Start date postponed until April 14th
I didn’t mean it as a joke, but April 1st has come and gone and I’m still happily in Austin. I decided to stick around for a bit longer to enjoy the city in nice weather, tweak my bicycle set-up and spend more time with the nice people I’ve met here. I figure two weeks shouldn’t make too much of a difference with the heat.
My conditioning is behind where I was when I took off last time, but my legs and cardio are responding quickly to my training rides. Yesterday I did a 45 mile loop from downtown to the small town of Buda, TX. It’s a cute bedroom community that is working hard to draw more people in.
The owner of the house I’ve been staying in, Deborha, is back with her two dogs Layla and Callie – two sweat golden retrievers. We are building a pair of free libraries together. What is a free library you ask? A small box on a pole that people put in their font year with a sign – take a book leave a book – or something to that affect. She asked if I could help her and I jumped at the chance. I always enjoy working with my hands.
